Under the "sunk costs" concept, the money was spent when you spent it. If fixing the problem is more pain in the neck than its worth, then don't. You don't owe it to yourself or the money you spent THEN to fix it.

Once I was showing my less than stellar blocks to an expert quilting friend, look at all my lost points etc, I said. She took them and shook them back and forth in front of my eyes. "do you see them now?" Brilliant!
