I don't shop there, either. Another reason is the carried mdse. If I'm shopping for the holidays, Hanukkah falls close to Christmas, and so does Kwanzaa. I have friends that celebrate those. It means I have to run to other stores to find gifts for them and there are other fabric stores closer to shops that do carry for other holidays. There's Michaels, and Joanne has fabrics plus the cards and gifts. So does Wally World in places. I'd rather do all my shopping in one area than driving all over town. There are good quilt stores with a office supply store/or cards in the same block.
They can choose not to, it's their store, but then don't fuss over non-attracted business for those who like convenience.
