You will cherish that quilt for the remaining of your life. I wasn't a quilter when my Dad died, but he kept a crochet scarf that I had made him. I kept missing stitches so I thought I would just add them on at the end of a row. He kept it for all his life and I was so surprised to have found it along with his belongings.
