Ive been thinking of mixing corduroy, denim, and twill for a picnic type blanket. I have pieces of these fabrics, but not enough for anything but patchwork. I think the texture of corduroy would be wonderful in a quilt.
I made a dog bed from pieces like these... the only advice I'd give is to use a larger than 1/4" seam... my seams began to come apart with washings and my dog bed didn't last very long. It was very pretty though! I'll make another, but with larger seams and perhaps reinforced seams... Good luck!!
