YLI nylon monofilament is my favorite for invisible machine applique because it shows the least. I have tried some of the newer polyester invisible threads, but they all are more visible than my old YLI.
The only truly invisible threads are either nylon or polyester. No matter which brand, they will have a similar feel to the Sulky and YLI you have already tried.
