The ad does contain spelling & grammatical errors so it is apparent that, perhaps, English is not the first language of the writer.

'Marie' is a very common European name. Edmonton is a very cosmopolitan city of many cultures. According to Statistics Canada, in 2011, its population was 812, 201. Of that population, only 16,180 gave French as their 'mother tongue'/first language. In this census, over 75,305 people affiliated themselves with other European backgrounds and languages that were not French.
