Sorry, I'll be no help at all. I gave up even trying and now all my bobbins just sit in little decorative bowls near the sewing machine. I find I don't really have any trouble matching them up to the spools when I need to use them - I have 2 bowls and I sort the bobbins into them depending on thread weight so they're slightly organized. I put little girl hair bungie things around them so they don't unspool and cause tangles.
I actually like having them there, I think they're attractive looking in their cute little bowls. My thread is stored away out of sight so it's a nice little splash of color on my white table next to my white sewing machine.
