Awesome!! You are doing a great thing -- and so is he. And don't forget to lead him to the vintage section of the board so he can learn to service (and perhaps repair) his own sewing machine. When my son was a senior he needed to choose an elective. He chose Home Economics. The wonderful teacher had a class of boys. She taught them to service their machines and then allowed them to choose things for them to make with the sewing machines. One of the things my son chose to make was a set of cloth-backed vinyl covers for his guitar amps. He is now very comfortable with using the machine to mend his clothes, etc. I echo the thought that someone else had to lead your son to the male quilters on this board and in the field of quilting (Ricky Timms, etc).
