I put a brand new one on our bed 5 years ago, and have used it almost exclusively since then. It has been washed, used, and starting to wear now.
I used one of my first's 15 years , but it was pieced top, backing and it was like an envelope putting inside a ready old one quilted but old.
When i need to wash i open the envelope .
