I have been hand basting the top. I go to Goodwill for sheet backing. I know some don't do that, but you do what you can.
I have never completely basted a top by hand, I stick myself a lot! Usually I pin it. But I watch tv (or listen) and go merrily a long. We'll see how well this holds as I try to do some quilting on my embroidery machine later on.
