Most of the Quilter's Dream lines of batting allow you to quilt up to 12" apart. Here is a chart so you can see which ones will allow that large of spacing.

Another option is you could quilt the apple seeds inside the core or tie some french knots to suggest the seeds. This would require you to quilt inside the apple cores though.
