I really like your puzzle quilt and the idea to have the last piece in the border. Please take a close look at the blue block and the blank place where it looks like it is going to fit into.

If the point is that it doesn't fit then it just looks like a mistake to me. I don't understand the doesn't fit idea. If it is the last piece of the puzzle, it has to fit or the the puzzle maker made a mistake.??????????????????
