I do not mark my machine, there is no mistaking it. Although I use to mark my rulers, I seldom do that anymore. I have never had any issues. Most people only want to use my iron for a quick press because I set it up on my work table every time I sew.
I did have an issue with magazines, but now I keep them in my bag.
