Hickory Nut type hexies
Yesterday, I experimenting with the concept. Thinking, first try before you buy. So, I used file folder to draw templates, figuring outer hex to be 1" larger than inner...giving 1/2" fold over around.......cut fabs, batt and tried......did not work well.....not enough of a fold over.......so recut a new outer hex giving myself 3/4" seam around inner.....yes! I made this "sample" quite large.......inner about 2" and outer whatever.......did another, this time X sewed down inner, batt, outer hexies before turning over that frame....better IMHO. CONCLUSION: not going to buy templates....experiment pieces, notes, homemade templates will be bagged and filed...on to something else.......not what I want to do today!!!!!
