I did exactly the same thing QuiltingHaven did ... and it worked great....i also put little black metal loops from the packs of hooks and loops on it - the kind used on blouses with back neck closures - can't think exactly what they're called at the moment .... but used those to hook little sparkly ornaments on it too.
