Just did a quick check on ISMACS and there are records of serial numbers from June 1936 for the 206K http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...l-numbers.html
This appears to be the earliest mention of it. Was the machine invented in Scotland or Germany? I'm about to investigate. OK, it seems they were both made around the same time, the mid 1930s.
Now I'm wondering where the 1930 date came from.
