Okay, I was easy to convince. Just called and bought it for $30. It's just down the road, unlike most of my sewing machines that require long road trips.
The owner said his mother brought it over from Germany with her in 1939, from either Berlin or Braunschweig. She put it away and they just discovered it again when she was moving.
I'm sure I'll be looking for help. I know the tension is put together all callywampus and I don't know what some of the other controls are for.
