I have to throw this in about mashed potatoes. Wasn't any holiday and I was a newlywed. One evening I made a really great supper. I got the potatoes a little too smooth (almost soupy) so I added flour. Oh Dear Lord! Never did that again. Could have used it to hang wall paper and for some reason it was a little gritty and sour tasting. I didn't have any of it and told new husband he didn't need to eat it. He did have couple bites and I just told him don't eat it. wasn't going to hurt my feelings. The rest of the meal was fine but the gravy just had a bit of a grit to it. Couldn't figure that out til the next day. Never told him what I found in the flour. Yep weevils larvae. I gagged til I thought it was going to come out both ends. Never told him even later til after we were divorced. Used corn starch after that. I check flour really close when I buy and not a very large bag.
