I had a basal cell on my neck a couple of years ago. My Dermatologist sets aside one day a week for all cancers of the neck and face. He has a machine and lab guy that comes in. He will remove a section, then you go to the waiting room while they test it, he does the same for another patient and so on. The lab guy tests the biopsy and if the Dr. got it all, he sutures you up and your done, if he did not get it all, you go back in for him to take another layer. I was lucky and he got it all the first try. I have a friend who had to sit all morning and go back several times. The good thing is that they can test it right there without having it sent to the lab. You know you are cancer free when you leave his office.

I have had two basal cell carcinomas and one melanoma. Yes, it is scary!
