Marking with Crayola washable markers
I read on a blog that someone uses crayola washable markers to mark her quilts and they wash out fine. I thought, "what a truly simple idea" but how clever.
I have several fabric markers, but they do seem to not show up well on the right fabrics, etc...so I went out yesterday and bought these. There are 24, and any color I could possibly need--I would have possibly liked white, but there is yellow...so..

Yesterday I used a dark green to mark a quilt. Today I finished the quilt and washed it, and sure enough...it came out just fine.
So, such a simple and relatively inexpensive solution for this problem! I feel weird I didn't think of it before.
