I got mine as a Christmas gift last year and I love it. Not able to make comparison with another machine as I only had a singer featherweight (which i still have) before the Janome. You might be interested to know the Janome website have a forum with lots of great information for users and as for FMQ a lot of people have found it helpful to buy the alternative fmq foot -

I would want to know why the seller is selling.... and the only other concern would be if it has been maintained as it should. I have seen people state they haven't had to take their machine in and thats ok but should be reflected in the price in my opinion.
