We celebrated St Nicholas Day every year as I grew up. We received a small bag with mixed nuts (in the shell) on the bottom and then usually an apple and an orange, topped off with a candy cane. These items were great treats for us and we savored them as long as we could. Good memories!!! Was surprised when I moved away after school and married. No one I knew had any idea what St Nicholas Day was. I sure missed that tradition.
