I would make a Trip Around the World. A lap-size of Eleanor Burn's Quick Trip Around the World takes only 1/2 yd of 9 fabrics and you can use the rest for borders - and it's easy! My avatar is a crib-size QTATW. This is a YouTube video of how to make it:
