I would also suggest that as you add two sections together, you pin your points before you sew. Then, when you sew, your needle should hit one or two threads outside the point, so that when you open the two pieces, you still see the point. I made this PP wall hanging several years ago from a free Carol Doak pattern. I am not usually a pinner, but I used a lot of pins putting this together.
