I have the D1 and the Ruby Deluxe and use them both for embroidery and sewing. If the Ruby is doing an embroidery, then I will sew on the D1. Both great machines. My D1 will have to croak for me to give it up!! I would sell the embroidery unit if I never would intend to use it. Embrillance is a good embroidery program and you can save your designs to the floppys with it and it isn't terribly expensive like the 6D I have. The feet are interchangeable.
