I like Aurifil too, but now I've been turned on to Precensia and I like it even better (though it does cost more). I have lots of Aurifil in various colors on hand, and one gigantic cone of Precensia in a neutral color.

I use those two (Aurifil & Precensia) for piecing and for when I want quilting to disappear (stitch in the ditch).

When I want quilting to show up, I use Connecting Threads. Yes, it's lintier than Aurifil or Precensia, but it's a thicker thread so it shows up on the fabric more, and since the price is SO good I went ahead and bought a spool of every single color when they were on sale, so now I have tons of options when selecting what I'm going to use.
