The White #8 is pretty similar to the Singer , uses the same shuttle though the belt pulley is on the outside of handwheel. Not certain if the underside of the model 8 is the sames as the 27 or 127. In the Ismacs Sears article many Davis machines and others are labeled as Singer clones which they are not though on some the styling is similar. The Singer influence is there though "Clone" or "knock off" is a bit strong IMHO.
