I had never heard of them until stopped at a shop in Sayville NY yesterday and there were baskets of 6 1/2" strips rolled into triangles called footballs. The shop manager told me that a lot of times they can't get 1/4 yard out of the bolt and this is a neat way to use bolt ends. Great for applique, for sure, or anything scrappy (like my BH mystery project
)
Are they common in other areas of the country? I haven't seen them at my local LQS north of Boston.
