There is a site that does t-shirt quilts for others. Try Googling it and see what they charge. Most non quilters have any idea how much a quilt cost. Most t-shirt squares are backed with a light weight fusible stabilizer to control the stretch. It can be expensive. Do a list of the supply cost so you can show him much just the materials will cost plus your labor.
