It's more that it is not as long, the light fixture takes up the full distance between head and pillar. With the larger size, there is more room under the arm. this is the full size version

Cathy, Well, you could have ... and did .... fool me. I thought that was a full sized machine. I was thinking about the Singer 99 to 66 relationship and this seemed to be bigger that that. I do have a White made DRESSMASTER to compare it with. I was going to post a pic of both together but the forum system is preventing me from doing much of anything but posting text. Maybe tomorrow.
