To keep on topic: something that doesn't last forever ~ Kitchen sponges! I buy the yellow ones with the green scratchy side. Every time I throw out a grungy one, I wonder why I didn't do it earlier.
I sew very little with batiks, not because I don't like them -- I DO! -- but they are more expensive than other fabrics often and I've just managed to rein in my desire for them. BUT, that said, a charm pack might be just the ticket to make something colorful for my wall! Mostly medium ranges, colors. I'll add lights.

I promise to start looking for that button box tomorrow. My foot with the recovering torn achilles tendon is recovered but swelling each day after a day going about my busyness, and I'm off it for the next few hours.
