This is a thought, probably way off base, but could a cam stack with individual cams be fabricated to replace the one piece unit? I ask this because a cam stack assembled with individual cams would not have the problems associated with old age shrinking like the one piece units do.
An example would be my Alden's cam stacks, they are separate cams mounted on a pair of shafts.
