I have red snappers, but do not use them. The only time I have ever had to add more backing was using the red snappers and it happened every time I used them. I do a lot of charity quilting and usually the backing is only 6" larger than the width and length. The things are so flexible I had a hard time getting the quilt straight. I did like the speed putting on and taking off a quilt. DH also likes the speed. I may try them again when we have extra backing fabric. The tightness was another problem. I have RA is both hands.
