There are more male quilters on the board than evidently you've seen. Some also repair. Isewman does a lot of handquilting. Go to the different photos and look at someof the quilts by men. Right now am not bringing to mind all but you're not the only male quilter. Great that you're carrying on the tradition of family quilters. Would love to see photos of your projects.
