Rewiring a sewing machine is relatively easy. I've done a bunch of them. You can generally get the cord you need at most hardware, lighting or electrical supply stores.
Sew-Classic { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } sells it. I'll bet your machine should use the 18-2 SPT-2 cord.
Also there are some companies that specialize in reproduction fabric covered cord. You can find that at
Sundial Wiring { http://www.sundialwire.com/sundialwi...veredwire.aspx }.

Basically you just carefully remove the old wire, cut the new wire to length and put it in exactly as the old wire came out.

Depending on how your machine is wired, Sew-Classic may have a replacement cord set for it.


I don't know why the fascination some have with converting every machine they see to hand crank. It's OK I guess, but it sure don't beat a good electric motor.
