do not want. Try to put the cone onto a thread stand so that the thread comes directly off the top with no added resistance.
the cup is just
ONE of the solutions/work arounds she offers. I have done it in a pinch (used a cup) along with a safety pin to guide the thread to to the top of the machine and the first machine thread guide and it works fine but yes I agree to use a stand.
