Just because of my experience with past BH's designs I opted for constants in the black, yellow and neutral. I think its an easy way to simplify the appearance of the quilt. Though I still like some of the colors to be scrappy. Sorry about the shadow, overhead lighting is great when your not in your own shadow.
You give me hope, Emma. I did the same as you - single black, neutral, yellow - and your block looks much less chaotic than the fully scrappy one in the reveal. There's still hope for my quilt
I haven't had a chance to play with blocks yet (2 mysteries going on today, and one from yesterday that didn't get finished) but I hope to put some blocks together later today.
