It never ceases to amaze me they would just put it outside and leave it. We have thrift stores that will come and pick it up if you can't deliver. Luckily you came along to rescue it.
In our area, things don't stay at the curbside for very long. By the time the pick-up crew comes along, all of the "treasures" have been rescued.
