I don't see why it wouldn't work. I have small house without the floor space to sandwich a big quilt or room for a big table to do it so I use the wall space. I use painters tape to tape the backing to the wall along the top, then tape the batting up, then pin the top to the batting and backing. It's much easier to do this way and no getting a back ache from pinning on a table or the floor.
