I used the wood casing around my garage door. I used push pins to attach the backing to the wood and then sprayed the backing and put the batting on. I pinned the batt to the back along the top. I sprayed the batt and put on the top. It worked well since it was only a baby quilt but I don't know if the push pins would be strong enough for a bigger quilt. You might have the same problem using tape with trying to spray baste in front of your window.
