Beautiful quilt. I have used black - Kona - in a quilt and love it. I don't have pets but I don't notice it picking up lint much. As far as fading I made the quilt a year ago so really not enough time to tell.
I used Kona black in only one quilt and washed the black before cutting. There was no bleeding in the wash and it dried the darkest black I've ever seen. I haven't seen the quilt since I gifted it.
