Here is my block #1 hand stitched. The dark blue was done without pressing the turned edge into the fusible web. That seems to work the best.



I still did it mostly the same, I used the fusible webbing on the fabric and then pressed around to get a good crease. I it down to about 3/16" and clipped the inside corners, but made sure not to go all the way to the crease. I snipped them first and then creased - but I did not snip any outside curves.

Then I pulled off the paper and pinned the piece down. I did not iron it again until it was all stitched.

Here is what it looked like pinned down. Some of the pressed edges are folded over. I found it was easier to place when I unfolded all the pressed edges.
