Okay, so I went to the Workday at the Post and we worked on two different samples, with the two methods and found out that one will indeed give you the required quarter square triangle.
The second method will provide you with mirror image quarter square triangles.
So - - the camera didn't do what it was supposed to, so I came home and asked hubby for a new one <g>
The first method, I cut two 6.5" squares of contrasting colors ... draw two diagonals on the lightest square.
Start on the left side of the first diagonal, sew to the center, pivot machine and sew across the center line until you are on the right side of the same line ... sew to the end - - repeat on the second diagonal.
