After being a renter stuck with white walls for many years. when I bought my home it had horrible dark colors throughout. The bank gave me such a discount over the paint, way more than painting cost, how could I refuse? Anyway, as we repainted each room, we chose medium tone pastels. until I went paint shopping for the last room, the kitchen. I actually intended to do it white to match all my strawberry decor. At least that was my intent until I found a truly fire engine red at the local Restore. Guess who has a fire red kitchen with gingham curtains? For the record, my living room is a soft mint green and I love it!
