I have gotten 4 blocks done, and laid them out on Friday, and thought that is really dull. So, today, when I looked at it again, I still had the same impression, so I laid out scrappy strips of purple and my husband agrees that the blocks show up better. So now I am coming to more experts for their opinions. Please let me know what you think.

IMO, the purple sashing is way too mis-matched for the blocks and detracts from each of them.
