I love linen napkins. I also love vintage cotton napkins with embroidered corners.

If I make napkins from quilting cotton, I plan on getting two across the width, so about 21 inches square.

I do not feel that tossing a couple napkins in the wash (with another load) is adding much to my laundry.

I know I am the odd one out, but I love ironing linen. I love the smell of hot linen and enjoying ironing. I worked at a B&B in the late 80's and took over all the ironing. Nobody else wanted to do it. I got to set up the iron in front of the window looking out over the water with t music playing. I ironed away, enjoying the view, smell and sounds. It was great.

When napkins get stained, I use them for everyday use for family. I know they are 'clean'.

I use small tea towels for picnic napkins.
