My 301 has the spool holder for the bobbin winder broken off. I don't know when that happened. I am the first owner of that machine, and don't remember breaking it. I have just ignored it so far, and put a spool on the floor when I need to wind a bobbin. I guide the thread with my hand to where it needs to go.
