HI all, I have an older Pfaff Hobbymatic 955 (about 18 or so years old by now) and I was wondering if anyone out there had the same machine and if they machine quilted successfully with it. And if you do, do you have any special attachments that you use to machine quilt with it. Is that what a walking foot is for? I tried to machine quilt straight lines with it eons ago and just made a mess (of course I didn't know what I was doing and used a regualr foot with it which I'm thinking is a no-no). I have a couple of tops that I'm going to take to a professional to have them machine quilted but it will cost me $100Cdn each to do at least at $2 a sq ft. The other place in town is $3 a Sq ft and that's getting expensive (or maybe that's average price, I don't know I haven't had one done before). I'd like to at least be able to do smaller quilts or wall hangings/table runners myself if that's possible. A new machine isn't in the cards just for this task either.
Thanks!
Evelyn
