I'm working on this same quilt. I love it and I'm not necessarily a scrappy fan. It's hard for me to do. I have taken the scraps from the cut-off corners and made tiny pinwheels. Not sure what I'll do with them but they sure are cute. The block is easy and fun to do. But --- I'm only half done. I appreciate all the suggestions for layout.
