I'm with J Miller here; either you have the wrong attachment, or you have just given up too quickly with the one you have. Sometimes you have to give your FW a furry eyeball or two to make it bend to your will. If you are sure it is the only ruffler you have, and the only one you've ever had (and provided no one plunders through your stuff when you're not around); you've got to be the winner here--not the FW.
